After being away from the country for a couple of years, Barbara returns to attend the funeral of her younger sister, Karen. As she assumes the duties of her sister's daughter Isabelle, she falls in love again with James, her brother-in-law who also happened to be her ex-boyfriend. As the three form a semblance of a family, Karen's ghost comes back and slowly haunts them. The haunting progresses as Karen starts to brainwash Isabelle through her doll, Sally.
